Dnepropetrovsk is one of the largest and richest cities of Ukraine. It is situated on both banks of the Dnipro river and occupies a decent area. Land in the region remained unsettled because of the often raids of the Tatar and Turkish troops. But with the advent of the Zaporozhian Cossacks things have changed, people have started to build new settlements, Inns and cities. Dnipropetrovsk was founded in 1776. In the initial stages in its development was invested huge funds, the Governor Prince Potemkin, wanted to turn the city into a third capital of the Russian Empire, but his plans were not fated to come true. For a short history of the settlement has changed several names, he had the name of Ekaterinoslavl, Novorossiysk, as in Soviet times, became the Dnepropetrovsk. The city is a large industrial center and space capital of Ukraine, local missile plant Yuzhmash once headed the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma. In the modern Dnepropetrovsk invested a lot of money and therefore, every year it becomes more attractive for tourists and the residents themselves.

A significant part of Dnepropetrovsk take metallurgical plants, but there is also quite interesting sights. The earliest buildings include the Potemkin Palace, it was built in 1786. Great popularity among visitors of the city is the Monastery island, lying in the midst of endless water surface of the Dnieper. The most ancient landmark is the Scythian women stood on this earth for thousands of years. Not far from Dnepropetrovsk you can see the remains of fortifications bogoroditskaya fortress.
 

In Dnepropetrovsk there are a number of remarkable sacred buildings. On October square stands the Cathedral of the Transfiguration, it was founded by Empress Ekaterina II. From the other Orthodox churches is to provide Mykolaiv, and Bryansk Nicholas Church. Many tourists like in the synagogue with the beautiful name of Golden rose.
 

Dnepropetrovsk boasts the longest in Europe embankment, it stretches along the right Bank of the Dnipro river for more than 23 km. Cultural leisure easily complemented by visiting theatres. Of most interest are the drama theatre named after Shevchenko academic Opera and ballet theatre and the theatre of Russian drama. Hungry tourists will easily find the restaurants with delicious and cheap or very expensive food. In Dnepropetrovsk there are some good night clubs, so that young people will also be interested in the city.
